The circuit is based on the TMS320C6713 DSK combined with analog boards THS12082 and DAC8534 EVMs that interface to the DSK, both of which are supported by the Data Converter Plug-in (DCP) software through Code Composer Studio™ (CCS). The digital gain control is expected to ultimately improve the efficiency and linearity of a Doherty amplifier.

This is just one example of the mixed-mode projects under consideration in the new real-time laboratory within the Cardiff School of Engineering, which is underpinned by the support of Texas Instruments.
