Attend Free TI Hands-on Workshops at ICASSP 2005 (March 18 - 23)- Space is Limited, Make Your Reservations Today
TI has the tools and the materials and knows the experts who make it easy to teach real-time DSP. Attend the IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2005) and attend these TI-sponsored workshops free of charge. Register today on the TI Web site.

1.      Digital Signal Processing System-Level Design Based on LabVIEW and TMS320C6000 DSPs Workshop (Friday, March 18, 2p.m.-5p.m.) - Developed by National Instruments, LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment suited for high-level or system-level design, allowing the integration different signal processing components or subsystems within a graphical framework. This new hands-on workshop is taught by Jim Zachman of Hyperception, a National Instruments company. Attendees will receive a special discount on TI and NI tools.

2.      Dr. Rulph Chassaing¡¯s Popular Workshop: TMS320C6416/6713 DSP Starter Kit for Educators (Saturday, March 19, 9a.m.-4:30p.m.) - The workshop offers training on the TMS320C6713 (and TMS320C6416) DSP Starter Kit (DSK) and Code Composer Studio IDE. This hands-on teaching workshop emphasizes the laboratory component of DSP with real-time examples that include waveform generation, FIR/IIR and adaptive filters and FFT. Attendees will receive a free DSK ($395 value).

Don¡¯t forget to visit TI¡¯s booth and see demos on the latest technology from educators and TI third parties. Talk to TI and squeeze knowledge from TI¡¯s technical gurus, such as Gene Frantz and members of the DSP R&D team.

Georgia Tech¡¯s "DSP for Practicing Engineers" Course Now Enrolling
This 14-week course begins April 4 and provides a solution for teaching DSP theory to practicing engineers, focusing on real-time, fixed-point applications. The course provides a solid foundation in DSP theory as well as examples, laboratory exercises and problems that focus on applications of the theory using the latest TI DSP chips. The coursework is self-paced and delivered via the Internet to the student's location. It
's a popular course each semester, and attendees have given high praise for the quality of the materials and the responsiveness of the instructors. The course fee of $1,695 includes all necessary course materials, including the new TMS320C6713 DSK. Enroll today.

Well-known Georgia Tech specialists in digital signal processing include:

  • Dr. Ron Schafer
  • Dr. Thomas Barnwell
  • Dr. Monty Hayes
  • Dr. Doug Williams
  • Dr. David Anderson

¡°IQMath on TMS320C28x ™ Digital Signal Controllers¡± Free Online Training
Receive an overview of the IQMath coding methodology on C28x
controllers. Download this free online course and discover the technical comparison of the floating-point approach along with motivation for the IQMath technique.

Free Online Training: "90-nm Process Technology Drives Increased Performance and Significant Price Reduction"
Find out how innovative design methodology and improved manufacturing processes have allowed TI to ship 1-GHz DSPs at a 90-nm process node. This technology has enabled TI to reduce the price of existing TMS320C64x
DSP devices by more than half. Take this free online course and discover the many benefits of this innovative technology and what it can do for you.

Thank You for Attending the TI Developer Conference 2005
The TI Developer Conference 2005 provided the technical knowledge and networking opportunities to enable educators and students to see the future and create their own. Thank you to those who presented and attended. We have e-mailed you an invitation to download the conference proceedings. If you did not have a chance to fill out the on-site conference survey, please take the opportunity to give us your feedback
, and in return we¡¯ll be happy to send you a cool conference T-shirt (www.ti.com/tidcnow). If you didn't attend this year in Houston, please take a look at the events taking place in Europe and Asia this April and May. The call for presentations for TI Developer Conference 2006 will be distributed soon. Look for details at www.ti.com/tidc.

If you did not receive this message directly, we'd be happy to add you to our e-mail list. If you do not wish to receive Texas Instruments DSP University Program newsletters in the future, we will remove you from our list upon request.
